This traditional mountain bike race used to be part of the annual Whitefish Summer Games. Since the demise of the games, we have continued this event for 9 years which has evolved into a bicycle hillclimb from the bottom of Big Mountain Road to the Summit House.
There are two courses, both finish at the summit. The Ultimate course begins at the corner of Wisconsin and Big Mountain Road, and the easier mountain course begins just slopeside of Ed and Mullys, in the upper village for those who are not superhuman and only want to climb ½ mile on their bike.
Helmets must be worn entire race, and the same bike must be used for the entire race. i.e. -No switching bikes allowed. No T-shirts available for 2008 Hillclimb.

The Ultimate King/Queen route follows the Big Mountain Road up through the village to the trail head for the summit trail and then up the entire Summit Trail for a total length of 13 miles with 3700 vertical feet of climbing.
