Mt Bachelor's annual fund raiser for LOCAL breast cancer research and education returns for the 6th year. Riders for the Cure was created as a way to have fun on the mountain and learn more about breast cancer. This event is NOT a competition! Everyone regardless of age or ability is welcome to take part and have fun! The event donates all net proceeds to Sara's Project at St. Charles Hospital.
Saras Project is a breast health education and outreach partnership created by St. Charles Cancer Care. It was founded to promote early detection of breast cancer, build awareness, and provide support to women facing breast cancer. The project honors Sara Fisher, a cherished Bend teacher, counselor and active community volunteer who died in 1992 after a seven-year battle with breast cancer.
Funds raised through donations, or at sponsored events, are used to support a number of initiatives to support women with breast cancer or those with an abnormal findings, provide support and services.
There will be awards for the Best Pink Costume, Most Money Raised and MORE. Brochures will be available after the first of the year. So get out there and start raising donations!! Levels will be similar to years' past - packs, goggles, shirts and even bigger prizes like skis & snowboards will all be part of this fun event.
