The Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort was the first full service resort in Lake Placid to be completely non-smoking on premises as well as to have all non-smoking guest rooms. These beautifully designed, smoke-free guest rooms with private balconies bring the clean Adirondack air inside. Complete with refrigerators, coffee makers, internet access, movies, video games, hairdryers, irons & boards our rooms feel more like home. One-of-a-kind suites and specialty rooms, including fireplace rooms, two-room suites, and kitchenettes are available to meet the needs of any traveler. Our hand picked staff has been called the friendliest in town, and would be more than happy to assist you in planning your vacation. Exit 24 in Albany. Follow 87 North to Exit 30. Take a left off of the off-ramp onto Rt. 9 North and follow it for two miles to Rt. 73. Continue on 73 for 26 miles to Lake Placid area. Turn left at the traffic light onto Main Street which is also Rt. 86. You will see the Golden Arrow approximately 1/2 a mile up the road on the right just past the Olympic Arena. Drive Time- From NYC- 5 hrs From Albany- 2 1/2 hrs. From Montreal Take Route 15 South to the Champlain Crossing, connect with I-87 South at the boarder. Take Exit 34 West, following Route 9N. Then follow Route 86 to the Whiteface Mountain/Lake Placid area. Continue straight through the traffic light. You will see the Golden Arrow approximately 1/2 a mile up the road on the right just past the Olympic Arena. Drive time- 2 hours. From Ottawa Head South to the Cornwall Bridge. Pick up Route 37 East to Malone. Follow Route 30 South to Paul Smiths College. Follow Route 86 to Saranac Lake and Lake Placid. Rt. 86 becomes Main Street in Lake Placid.
