Ski Butternut is located on the northern slopes of East Mountain State Forest near the village of Great Barrington.

Novice To Expert, Trails For Everyone
Butternut is ideal for beginners and families with children. With 22 trails on 110 skiable acres, it is a great place to learn the basics or perfect your turns.
Snowboarders are welcome on all trails, and there is a snowboard park along one side of Cruiser. And two new snowboard parks have been added.
For cross-country skiers, you will find 8 kilometers of wooded touring trails.
There are 100 professionally trained instructors who will give you personalized instruction. For children 4 to 12, there is a SKIwee program designed to teach kids the basics and how to have fun, too.
Skier services include a Children's Center for youngsters 2 to 6, ski rental and repair shop, ski shop and a cafeteria.
Although you will not find any base lodging here, a great selection of cozy, charming lodging accommodations, dining selections and apres ski may be found in the general vicinity.
Easy To Find
Ski Butternut is located two miles east of Great Barrington, Mass., on Route 23. From New York, take the Taconic State Parkway north to Claverack/Route 23 exit; Route 23 east. From Albany, take I-90 east to Exit B3; Route 102 to West Stockbridge; Route 41 south to Route 23 east.
From Hartford, take Route 44 west to Canaan, Conn.; north on Route 7; east on Route 23.
From Springfield, Mass., and points east, take I-90 west to Exit 2; west on Route 102; south on Route 7 to Route 23 east.
