Adaptive Sports Program 866 448-9398 Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort

Embracing the Challenge!

Wasatch Adaptive Sports, in it's twenty-eighth season, is one of the premier ski and summer programs for children and adults with special needs anywhere in the world; offering ski lessons, snowshoe tours and sledge hockey throughout the winter, and numerous outdoor recreational activities such as hiking on barrier free trails, fishing, biking, tram rides and environmental awareness programs in the summer.

Our program works hand in hand with many schools, therapeutic recreation centers, children's hospitals and rehabilitation centers throughout the state, providing much needed ski lessons and other outdoor recreational experiences. The majority of our lessons come from Utah, with an increasing number coming from destinations across the United States. All of our lessons are based on supportive scholarships.

For some, a simple adaptation in body position will be all it will take for that person to learn to ski. For others adaptive equipment is available to accommodate specific disabilities. The professional staff of Wasatch Adaptive Sports, offers unlimited activities, for children and adults with special needs on a regular year round basis. Ski lessons are available seven days a week, from Thanksgiving to mid April.

Our mission statement, "Reaching out to make a difference," exemplifies our philosophy of going into our local community and targeting the children and adults that we feel without special assistance, in the form of programs, equipment, sponsors and scholarships, will never receive the opportunity to participate in outdoor recreational activities that are essential to personal development and self-esteem.

An Award of Excellence, was presented to Wasatch Adaptive Sports, by the National Division of the U.S. Forest Service, for its leadership and promotion of recreational activities, accessible facilities, trails and ramps, to children and adults with special needs.
